“Lyrically, Nix’s songs concern themselves with memory, longing and poetic personal journeys… it’s hard not to have your heartstrings pulled.” - Tom Astley

Profile
Sam Nix is an Alt-Americana songwriter from the North East.
Picking up the guitar at a young age, Sam has grown to become a multi-instrumentalist. His style is influenced by a range of artists, including Chris Stapleton, Jade Bird, Victoria Canal, and James Bay. But he carves his own niche with underlying acoustic tones, dry yet sweet vocals and romantic pensive lyrics which are deeply connected with his facsination for stories.
In the last 4 years Sam has had airplay across a number of radio stations, including BBC Introducing, won a local songwriting award with his band and performed live in multiple venues from Newcastle to Manchester. Notably in 2022 he supported famous cult songwriter John Otway.
The same year he released his debut EP 'From the Stars Above' which was produced by Chris 'Whiz' West (Richard Ashcroft, Status Quo, When Rivers Meet). This was followed in October with the single ‘A Girl I Met on The Tube Last Week’, which drew attention for its blissfully descriptive lyrics and production.
